1. Commonwealth Government’s New Cheaper Batteries Program – Launching 1 July

The Federal Government is rolling out its Cheaper Home Batteries Program, expected to launch on 1 July 2025.

What we know so far:

A rebate will likely be available to reduce upfront battery costs.
Technical requirements are still being developed.

2. Solar Victoria Interest-Free Battery Loans – Running Out Fast!

This program originally supported 4,500 installations, boosted with an additional $11 million. Now, only 1,000 loan spots remain.

Applications will close by 30 June or when funds run out, whichever comes first.

What this means for you:

Up to $8,800 interest-free loan to cover battery installation.
120 days from approval to install your system.
Once the cap is reached, no more applications will be accepted.
